Application of Stone Grip on Submerged Areas of the Pool: Steps and Islet in Complete Safety

Applicazione di Stone Grip su Zone Sommersa della Piscina: Gradini e Isolotto in Sicurezza Totale

A recent application of Stone Grip has once again shown how effective this anti-slip treatment is even in exceptional conditions, such as a pool with surfaces constantly submerged.

During the general cleaning of the pool, it was decided to treat the entry steps and a small central islet, both completely submerged during daily use of the basin. The work was carried out without water, carefully following every step of the application protocol.

Preparation: every detail matters

The success of the application starts with preparation: to safely treat surfaces in direct and continuous contact with water, it is essential to carefully follow the instructions and have everything needed ready before starting.

Useful materials to prepare:

  • A bucket to pour Stone Grip

  • Mop or pad for application

  • Bucket for the neutralizer

  • Extra floor cloths

  • Protective gloves and glasses

The surface: cleaning and test before application

After thoroughly cleaning the steps and the islet, a test was carried out on a hidden area to determine the ideal setting time. This step is essential to understand how long Stone Grip must act on the surface to reach the desired anti-slip level.

Complete application: even, continuous, controlled

Once the action time was defined, the full application proceeded. Important to remember:
Stone Grip must never be poured directly onto the floor.
The product must be spread evenly with the proper tool, keeping the surface always wet with Stone Grip until the set time expires. Letting the product dry would compromise the result.

Test and neutralization: do not skip the final step

After the treatment, an adhesion test was performed by pressing a shoe on a treated tile. Once the result was verified and the desired grip level obtained, the neutralization phase followed, which in this case was particularly important.

Since it was an area submerged in the pool, it was essential to stop the chemical action of Stone Grip to avoid over-treatment.
A solution was prepared with 4 liters of water and 1 spoon of baking soda, used to neutralize the product, followed by a thorough rinse.

Result: constant safety, even underwater

With this application, the entire pool area—from the steps to the islet—is now safer and more stable. Everyone who uses it can walk, enter, and exit the water without fear of slipping, even barefoot.

A simple, effective, and lasting solution to turn a potentially risky surface into a safe area, functional and ready to be enjoyed with full peace of mind.
